Man Offensive Plays

“BOSTON”

01 can actually run this entry to either side, but must declare an ‘action’ side so that the newly declared SS Wing (02, in this case) can empty out through the lane & on out to the new WS Wing area. After the side is declared, 01 then dribbles towards that side’s post player (04 in this case) & past him to the new BS Wing area. As 01 dribbles past 04, 04 rolls & follows the lower half of the dotted circle, before going across to the new WS Post area. As 01 approaches 04, 03 steps up (inside the dotted circle) to set a back-screen for 05 to use. 05 spins off of the outside shoulder of 03 & then follows the dotted circle. 05 then scrapes off of 04’s lower shoulder & on to the new BS Mid-Post area. After setting his back-screen, 03 steps out to top of key. 01 first looks to hit 05 inside. All players are in ‘3-Out of 2-In’ spot-ups to continue into next phase of offense.

# 1 “DUCK-IN

01 can dribble to FT Line extended on either side of floor after making the call. Newly declared Ballside Post (04 in this case) makes a strong duck-in cut to middle of the lane. If fronted, 01 makes ‘lob pass,’ if played behind, 01 makes bounce pass. 02 spots up in deep corner to shoot , drive or pass to 04. 03 breaks up to FT Line extended & 05 breaks to top of key (to help Isolate 04’s defender.) No shots produced still place five players in spot-ups to continue attacking.

01 can make inside pass to 04 who has isolated his defender, or to 02 for baseline jumper or for 02 to go inside to 04. 01 could ‘skip’ the ball to 03 or go to 05 who could then continue the swing to 03. There are 3 options that could then be run.

Whenever the ball is reversed, the ‘1st Option’ has 04 always “chasing the ball,” with 05 & 01 setting a stagger-screen for 02 to use for a possible “3” on top. This action again isolates X4 block. Still if no shots are taken, players are in a ‘3-Out/2-In’ Spot-Ups to continue in a ‘Motion’ Offense or continuity offense.
