9. Good zone continuity offenses have a common goat to be patient and to look for high percentage shots. High percentage shots could also come from the Secondary Break or from the transition of the break into the specific continuity zone offense that is to be executed. The initial phases of the overall offensive attack should look to create as many scenarios such as number-advantages or organization advantages that should then be capitalized on. The goal is for all zone offensive players to have a chance to succeed in the overall zone offense transition from its full-court into its half-court defensive plan. When executed correctly, there is no noticeable determination of when the Secondary Break or the when entry has concluded & when the zone continuity begins. Included in the phases preceding the continuity offense are the often-times that an offensive team has the chance to execute its Secondary Break phase of attack. Again, this could come from the initial defense-to-offense transition after capitalizing on the opposition’s turnovers, after securing a defensive rebound, after pushing the ball once the opposition has scored and also after breaking the opposition’s full court defensive pressure. If the Primary & the Secondary Break do not produce points, the desired continuity zone offense can easily & smoothly begin after the Secondary Fastbreak concludes.
